Charleston, South Carolina | 2 Days / 1 Night

Charleston is one of America’s most historic cities. Founded in 1670 by English colonists, this 300-year-old port city was once considered the cultural center of the New World.

We will arrive in Charleston around 1:00 pm. After lunch, we will go on a carriage tour of the Historic City of Charleston. After checking into our hotel, we will have dinner at Hyman’s Seafood (best seafood in town). After a continental breakfast, we will board the bus and visit the Slave Market downtown. We will depart for home around 1:00 pm.

Day 1:

We will depart for a wonderful trip to Washington, DC traveling through South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.

First Stop:

  • Tour Monticello (Thomas Jefferson’s home)
  • OR: Tour Mont Vernon (George Washington’s home)

We will check into the hotel for a brief moment, and then depart for Dinner.
Lights Out.

Day 2:

Choices:

  • Arlington National Cemetery
    If the school would like to lay a wreath for the Unknown Soldiers, we will have to put in a request as soon as possible. Please let us know if this interests you. You will also be able to visit the Kennedy Gravesites and Eternal Flame.
  • National Archives:
    This has the Bill of Rights, the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence on display. We would love to get you in as early as possible to be able to view these important documents. This is a free museum, but in order to visit without a 2 hour waiting period in a line, we can get time stamp tickets. Please let us know if the school is interested.
  • National Cathedral:
    This is a 2 hour tour. It’s the oldest Cathedral in the US.
  • Holocaust Museum
    This is also a free museum. If the school is interested in visiting this museum we can get time stamp tickets also.

Lunch will be at the Pentagon City Mall. The group will also have time for some shopping. The group has free time to visit any of the Smithsonian Museums. The evening Tours will consist of the Memorials and Monuments. There is a lot to choose from. Please have your Group Leader inform the Driver of the ones you are interested in seeing.

Day 3:

  • US Capitol:
    We are very interested in getting your school to meet the State Representatives. If interested, please inform us at the time of your booking so that we can arrange this with the Capitol Tour. The Tour will also consist of the opportunity to visit the Library of Congress.
  • White House:
    This is a picture stop.
